How life impacts faith and faith impacts life!

What is Faith Foundations?

Faith Foundations is a 20-hour introductory course in the basic beliefs and practices of the Catholic faith.

The course includes themes such as God, Sacred Scripture, Church, Liturgy, Sacraments, Ethics, and Prayer. Using instructional video presentations, prayer, and discussion, the course will teach you how to connect faith, spirituality, and everyday life.

What is the time commitment?

Ten weeks of two-hour weekly classes. There will be one-page reflection papers and assigned readings on a weekly basis.

Who is it for?

This course is aimed at adults seeking basic faith formation for personal enrichment, as well as those looking to enhance their current ministry. This includes graduates of the Pastoral Formation Institute who would like to refresh their knowledge and faith experience.

Where are the classes held?

The classes are held in parishes across the Diocese. Parishes are encouraged to open enrollment to neighboring parishes.

Who are the Instructors?

Instructors may be priests, deacons, qualified parish staff members, or diocesan assigned instructors. They are chosen for their theological expertise and their gift of facilitating adult learning and growth. Instructors must have an MA in theology or the equivalent.

Cost: Fees are set by individual parishes and include tuition and all materials.

We will post course offerings as they become available. If you are interested in particpating in Faith Foundations, or if your parish is interested in hosting one, please contact Estelle Peck, Associate Director of Adult Faith Formation.
