Ministry with Persons with Special Needs

To Lay Leaders and Ministry Volunteers

The mission of faith formation in the local parish depends on large numbers of volunteers who share their faith with children and adults. They do so as catechists of our children, as facilitators who prepare parents for the baptism of their children, and as leaders of marriage preparation programs to name but a few of the many ways in which adult Catholics are called upon to hand on the faith to others.

The Office of Faith Formation assists the local parish in the preparation of these individuals for their vital role in parish life. Through workshops, study days, courses and the work of the Pastoral Formation Institute we provide the necessary content and methods needed to prepare and support individuals for their particular roles in parish life.

For those who wish to offer a talent to a particular parish, the Sunday bulletin is a good place to begin. Each parish lists the staff members responsible for particular areas of ministry in the parish. For those who wish to prepare themselves prior to volunteering, simply contact us at the Office of Faith Formation and we will assist you in discerning an appropriate path of formation.
